A monarch butterfly weighs about as much as a paper
clip. Yet migrating monarchs may travel thousands
of miles to reach overwintering spots in Mexico and
along California's coastline. Most monarchs live
2-6 weeks, but the migrating generation can live 8
or 9 months. That's why I love writing
nonfiction--sometimes it's more interesting and
bizarre than anything I could make up!
